Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) invited bids to finalize the process of selecting consultancy firms. It also finalized the Terms of Reference (TORs) for Rawalpindi Master Plan 2040.

Reportedly, the new Master Plan will be designed by noticing the present population influx. In updated Master Plan of Rawalpindi, following amenities would be focused
- Provision of utility services
- Road infrastructure
- Civic facilities including health, educational and many other
According to chairman RDA, the selected firm would be bound to present the master plan in 6 months. Furthermore, chairman envisaged new master plan to give guidelines to every department. Afterwards, committee would be formed to check the implementation of new master plan.
