Skyscrapers on GT Road permitted by RDA
Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) allowed construction of skyscrapers on GT Road. Developers can build the buildings up to a 100 feet high. The decision was taken in the 46th meeting headed by RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza.
Moreover, in Rawalpindi, RDA also approved to build 35 feet to 65 feet vertically in 16 commercial hub roads. The list of these roads are shared below”
- Asghar Mall Road
- Rashid Minhas Road
- Chakri Road
- Girja Road
- Dhamial Road
- Chak Beli Khan Road
- Adiala Road
- High Court Road
- Saidpur Road
- Fatehjang Road
However, strict guidelines ordered in this regard. All of these infrastructures must follow quake-proof design. Moreover, as per news reports, several other laws & rules amended about private housing schemes. In particular, RDA has keenly observed if housing schemes are developed on the state land. In addition, the agency has also approved three more storeys to the Fawara Chowk multi-storey car park. As there is a huge traffic flow in this area.
