Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed Safa Gold Mall as per the directives of Supreme Court & National Accountability Bureau (NAB). In the first place, the civic agency has sealed two parking basements and 7th floor including management offices & food court. Estate wing, Building Control Section & Directorates of CDA were supervising this operation.

Supreme Court Verdict
As per Dawn News Report, Safa Gold Mall sealed because it was constructed on cancelled plot. On June 11, Supreme Court gave the verdict that Plot No. 5 at Jinnah Super Market was allotted for the healthcare center. CDA health department was once located there. After auction by CDA, it was converted in to commercial plot.

NAB Investigation
NAB was requested for further inquiry by CDA. However, NAB verified Supreme Court verdict. It directed CDA to immediately retrieve the mentioned land from Safa Gold Mall management. In addition, personal notices are also speculated for the traders & shop operators of the mall. In case of incompetence, strict action would be taken against those individuals.

Previous Legal Actions
On November 2017, NAB arrested 6 officials of CDA guilty of exploiting their authority. These individuals mainly belong to Building Control Section including:
- Deputy Director General – Malik Ghulam Murtaza
- Director – Khalil Ahmed
- Deputy Director – Ammar Idrees
- Assistant Director – Khadim Hussain
- Owner of Safa Gold Mall – Rana Abdul Qayyum
As this land was earmarked for building hospital. But with connivance of CDA officials, the plot was used for commercial activities.
In addition, on July 2016, it was sealed for violating building code & conducts. As per CDA’s parameters, 2 basements, ground & only 4 floors were allowed. But mall built additional 1 basement & 4 additional floors.
In the end, this action has upset the investors & traders working in Safa Golf Mall. Furthermore, it also leads to great investment lose as well.
