Illegal Housing Schemes In RDA

Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) finally came into action against all the unapproved & illegal housing schemes in its jurisdiction. The operation was launched on July 25 in accompany of Rawalpindi Police. It will last until the end of August.

As per Tribune News report, on the 1st day, the civic body sealed the site offices of 4 unlawful residential schemes. Meanwhile it also demolished the head office of other illegal housing society. This operation conducted particularly in Wah Cantt. These offices were developed in violation of Punjab Private Housing Schemes & Land Subdivision Rules 2010.

List of Sealed Offices

According to Daily Times, Muhammad Irfan, RDA Spokesperson shared the detail of sealed offices as below:

  • 1 site offices of Margalla Hills Enclave at Mouza Shah Wali
  • 1 site offices of Margalla Hills Enclave at GT road near Taxila
  • 1 booking office of Faisal Town at Anwaar Chowk, Wah Cantt
  • 1 booking office of Iqbal Town at Anwaar Chowk, Wah Cantt
  • 1 booking office of Wah Enclave Residencia

Furthermore, civic agency also halted developmental work at Taxila Scheme-III site location.

RDA Chairman, Mr. Arif Abbasi, said that this operation envisaged implementing the rules & regulation without any discrimination. In case of incompetence, strict actions & penalties would be charged irrespective of owners reputation or status.

Metropolitan & Traffic Engineering Directorate (MP&TE) expressed his views regarding this operation. According to him, legal cases will be filed against concerned authorities & marketers. As they were warned several time to refrain from advertising of such societies.

In addition, RDA asked IESCO, PTCL & SNGPL to not provide any connections or offer any services to these unapproved housing schemes.
