Rawalpindi Ring Road introduced 2 new interchanges
Rawalpindi Ring Road has introduced 2 new interchanges which has been announced by Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA). With respect to this new announcement, the total length of Rawalpindi Ring Road will have increased from 35 Km to 65 Km.
As per News Sources, the latest interchanges will present on below mentioned locations:
- Phase 1 Grand Trunk (GT) Road to Motorway
- Phase 2 Motorway to Sangjani
Before this only 8 interchanges were announced for Rawalpindi Ring Road. Later on, because of the budget constraints, Rawat & Tarnol Interchanges were cancelled. However, as per latest news, aforementioned interchanges are also part of the Rawalpindi Ring Road Master Plan.
Details about Rawalpindi Ring Road Interchanges
In light of latest updates, the phase 1 will be comprised of 36.40 Km. Meanwhile, total distance of Phase 2 is 27.72 Km. The phase 2 has following interchanges included:
- Haqla Dera Ismail Khan Interchange
- N-80 Road Interchange
- Sangjani Road Interchange
- Bankwire Port Link Road Interchange
Capital Development Authority planned to build link road from Sangjani Interchange to Bara Kahu. This road will touch D-12, Naval Complex & Nupur Shahan. Moreover, it is also planned to extend this road to Radio Pakistan in the near future.
