National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Lahore Director General has assured to resolve the overseas Pakistanis’ real estate issues including possession, investment, occupying & many others faced by them. He titled expats as “National Assets”. He announced it while interacting with a delegation of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC).
DG felt sorry for the expats who stuck their hard earned money in such schemes. He appointed his additional director as a focal person. Zahid Hussain, OPC Commissioner of Punjab briefed him about the overseas concerns regarding the real estate & property in Pakistan. He also talked about the overall performance & operations of the OPC.

Furthermore, he also requested DG for establishment of an authentic & complete channel for the working of NAB & OPC side by side to resolve such problems. The dependency of several housing schemes legal status also brought to table.
OPC had recently retrieved a Pakistani-Canadian woman’s property worth Rs.60 million from illegal occupants in a Canal View Housing Society. This matter resolved in record time of 1 month. Mr, Waseem Akhtar, Vice President of OPC, said that there would be a sheer intolerance towards the illegal possession on expats property.
OPC pledged to protect the assets & rights of overseas Pakistanis to every possible extent. With the help of NAB, its speculated that these matters would be solved immediately in the future. On the other hand, overseas Pakistanis shown immense satisfaction after the announcement of NAB invasion in these matters.
