CDA Passed New Bylaws For Commercial Skyscrapers

Capital Development Authority (CDA) recently approved new rules & regulations regarding the new & existing Commercial Skyscrapers in the Capital, Islamabad.

Amir Ali Ahmed, CDA Chairman & Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Chief Commissioner, headed a meeting of CDA Board member. It was decided that these skyscrapers can only be built on the sides of those roads with Right-of-way (ROW). In Blue Area, G-8 to G-11 & on Kashmir Highway these ROW should be more than 300 yards.

Furthermore, owners also made bound to submit the layout plans prior to any construction. It should mention the area earmarked for green belts as well. These skyscrapers can only be built on larger areas or plots. It must be noted that existing commercial buildings are not allowed to further elevate the edifice. These policies are made applicable on new constructions only.

In addition, the board members were of the opinion that construction of such commercial buildings in the vicinity of IJP Road will definitely enhance the economic & trading activities in Islamabad.
