Capital Development Authority (CDA) finalized the bidding process for construction of Burma Bridge. 6 companies participated in the run for this contract. As per CDA Chairman, Amir Ali Shehzad, they will announce the name of final contractor in less than a week or so.

Overall, the cost of this project estimated as PKR. 199 million. Meanwhile, amidst the received bids, lowest one proposes 3.97% of total speculated cost. In addition, one year of the time frame planned for the construction of Burma Bridge.

This project held on documentation for more than last half a decade. Despite being a need of time, this project was delayed earlier especially due to lack of funds. CDA has announced to construct this bridge in budget report.

For now, authorities has finally announced the substitute route & sealed the other one. This step taken to minimize the risk of any accident or mishap. Wherefore, it leads to heavy traffic jam because of overload of vehicles on the route.
