The construction work at Ammar Chowk has started. Rawalpindi Police gives the divergence route. The funds by Federal Government are also transferred to Cantonment Board Rawalpindi. Following are the divergence routes provided by the police:
The traffic from Saddar, Katcheri Chowk, and suburbs that intends to take old airport road will now use Rashid Minhas Road, Mareer Chowk, Murree Road, Liaqat bagh, Tipu Road to Fauji Foundation Tower, and then from Rawal Road to the old airport. Similarly, the route same route will be used for those who will intend to go to Saddar and its adjoining areas. Those who want to go towards Chaklala Scheme three will use the following route: Rahimabad Bridge, Dry Port Road will turn left from Makkah Chowk Gharebabad Road, Chaudary Walayat Khan Road, Gulistan Colony. Even motorcyclists are directed to use the same route. Traffic from PWD, Rawat, DHA, and its suburbs would take the Express Way highway to reach Islamabad.
As per the news, Katcheri Chowk’s flyover will also begin after the completion of the remodeling of Ammar Chowk.
