Federal Commission has rejected the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) proposal to build more than one floor for class three shopping centers. Upon revision of Islamabad’s updated Master Plan, CDA proposed to increase the number of permitted floors.

In the meeting, commission’s members believed that we can’t pass any law before detailed feasibility plan & research. They were of the opinion it will only cause more traffic jam in the already congested city.

As per previous Rules & Regulations, ground floor can be used for commercial purpose & other one for residential. Now, the civic agency trying to get permission to uplift these building to 4- levels.

However, Syed Sadar Ali, CDA’s spokesperson said some commission members find a need of detailed research work before giving any final verdict.
