Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) grants approval for land acquisition for Dasu Hydropower Project. Overall, this project costs PKR. 335.61 Billion. This project was kept in pipeline for more than 3 years.

This project was sponsored by World Bank & Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA). The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs. It is further subjected to Ministry of Law for further analysis. As per Land Acquisition Act of 1984, section-4, the cost revised due to alteration in exchange rates.

Dasu Hydropower Plant
Dasu Hydropower Project is located in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK). It has a height of 242 Meters. A RCC Gravity Dam & installed capacity of 4320 MW in total. Meanwhile, in Stage-1, it offers 2160 MW.
The project was started in June 2017 while proposed construction period is 5 years for stage-1. The main consultants for this project includes:

- Nippon Koei-Japan
- Dolsar-Turkey
- Local sub-consultants of DMC, NDC & PES
Land Acquisition Details
Overall land required for Dasu Hydropower Plant is 9,875 acres. 740 acres are readily available to WAPDA out of 1987 acres that is immediately required.
