DHA land in Rawat recovered from encroaches: CDA

Capital Development Authority (CDA) has recovered 1200 Kanals in Rawat from illegal mafia. This land belonged to Defense Housing Authority (DHA). 700 plots will be given to CDA in lieu of the land recovered.

As per news sources, CDA handed over a humongous land to DHA in Zone-5 of Islamabad. In return, the housing authority allotted 700 plots to CDA. Now, the apex civic agency is bound to pay PKR 120 million as a transfer fee. CDA’s spokesperson Syed Safder Ali said Enforcement Directorate, officials of Land & Rehabilitation Directorate, Deputy Commissioner CDA, officers of ICT, Islamabad Police present at the operation site.

In 2007, CDA & DHA had an agreement. As per that agreement, DHA will hand over one Kanal developed plot against each four Kanal raw land. However, some of the land occupied by the encroachments, that particular land has now been retrieved & handed over to the authority for development on their request.
