Rawalpindi Ring Road construction will start in June 2020. According to Federal Minister of Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Prime Minister Imran Khan will lay down the foundation stone. Rawalpindi Ring Road Construction will start soon afterwards.

As per news sources, it is going to complete by 2023. Moreover, the estimated cost for the project is PKR 55 billion. With respect to acquisition of land for Rawalpindi Ring Road, 146,000 Kanal land procurement is in progress. Meanwhile, notification for imposition of section 4 has already been issued.

Rawalpindi Ring Road is certainly a need of time. It will serve as a mega route for huge traffic flow from Rawalpindi & Islamabad. As per latest modifications, it is started from Radio Pakistan, Grand Trunk Road. Moreover, it will end on Capital Smart City by assimilating in to Motorway M2.

The mega interchange will be built on Chakri Road. The proposed length for Route is 35 Kilometres. The master plan of Rawalpindi Ring Road is prepared by NesPak. Moreover, NesPak will look after the Toll Tax function as well. Overall the project will be headed by Punjab Highway Department.
