The RDA sends notices to four marketing companies

Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued notices to four marketing companies for illegal advertisements of illegal housing schemes. Further, they took the action on the directives of DG Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa. They made it mandatory for marketing companies to remove all illegal advertisements immediately. The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of the RDA issued notifications and instructed the marketing firms to stop advertising the projects of the housing plans that were not authorized, an RDA spokesman said on Saturday. According to him, the DG had instructed authorities to act against illegal housing scheme advertisements. Moreover, the sponsor must obtain prior approval from the Authority before advertising any such projects. Violating these rules could result in legal action against the sponsor.

Further, he claims that without the authority’s prior approval, a sponsor cannot publicize the sale of plots or housing units in print, electronic, or any other medium.

They give companies strict warnings of legal consequences if they do not stop their illicit housing scheme advertisements. The DG has ordered authorities to take action to halt publicity campaigns in electronic media.
