Rawalpindi: August 25, it has been revealed that the Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) has issued instructions to the administrations of Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Murree, Talagang, and Jhelum districts. These instructions mandate the timely completion of new development projects within a span of two years.
A meeting convened under the leadership of Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division, Liaqat Ali Chatha, played host to these discussions. In this session, the DDWP approved revised project costs spanning diverse sectors such as the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), healthcare, and special education.
Commissioner Chatha underscored the importance of adhering to the set timelines for project finalization, while simultaneously emphasizing the non-negotiable principle of upholding construction quality. He stressed the prudent utilization of allocated funds without compromising the integrity of the work.
Furthermore, he shed light on the ‘Ab Gaon Chamkeinge’ initiative, which entails assigning proper addresses to residences in villages under the supervision of concerned assistant commissioners. This scheme aims to streamline the record-keeping of rural properties.
Partaking in the meeting were notables such as Tanveer Ahmed, Managing Director of WASA, Shahid Butt, Superintendent Engineer of Rawalpindi Highway, and heads of other relevant government departments. The meeting also witnessed the participation of deputy commissioners from Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal through a video link.
