In Islamabad, the Environment Department of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken steps to distribute 7,000 Seed Balls containing various types of plants to the public for planting during the monsoon season in Trail 5.
These seed balls were handed out to citizens on Friday. Notably, seed balls have an 80% higher survival rate compared to regular seeds. Often referred to as earth balls, they consist of seeds encased in clay and are gently pressed into the soil. Seed balls represent a simple and highly effective method for increasing plantations, requiring less labor.

This approach to planting allows for the propagation of plants and trees without the need for extensive digging. It is also a means of introducing organic seed balls into the ground to promote tree growth. With this method, plant species that are well-suited to the local environment can be introduced by simply planting or dispersing the seeds on the ground.
